Featuring Vodo Guy. Here he is conjouring up some skills for me. He is desperately trying to help
me work on getting the fractal art thing together.

This is actually two fractals put together using photoshop. It still doesn't have the sharpness on the imanges like it should. But here it is.

So much to look at and so many shapes and scenes to see! I think this is what really draws me to fractals - infinite possibilities. Excellent work and I think that the merging of the two compliments both well. I only wish the the image were larger. It would make a beautiful wallpaper, too! :)

Really pretty, I especially like the blue.

I don't even render my fractals, I just used Gadwin Printscreen to take a screenshot of it. :D

holy wow, just amazing, stunning, brilliant. I see this little dude summoning spirit guides, forming a strong forefront of energy, and the outer fractal reminds me of a silk curtain which reveals the "man". Though it could be a bit sharper I don't think this piece needs any more work.

I'm normally not a fan of fractals, but this is amazing. Very beautiful!!!!

I especially appreciate your comment.
I was not a fan at all to fractals until I started experimenting with them. Then I figured out how to deliberately shape your images rather than rely on random things. It takes a while but it can be done and it makes me feel better about presenting something that I actually intended to create.
Thanks for the comment.

:jawdrop: That's gorgeous! Symmetry isn't usually my thing but this blows me away! I love the Vodo guy, and the smaller blue guy - looks deadset like one of the masks my dad brought back from PNG 25 years ago.. The likeness is uncanny.

Mega :+favlove: for this

Really! I'd like to see that! Maybe when you get time you could snap it and post it to your scraps or something. I like masks.

Very neat fractal! The blues on the sides are absolutely beautiful. What is your sample density and oversample set to when you render it?

Hi thanks!
Sample varies this one was 3 and oversample 2,
filter radius 0.4, render quality set at 200, Gamma at 4.
I try to set every possible area at the highest quality I can. Then tweek from that point.

Well render quality would be your problem! I have mine set at 2000 (Max) and I never have anything come out less than fine hairline smooth. It takes a while to render, but I think it's worth it.

Ouch! 2000?
Well I'll have to try that on the computer at school. They can afford to fix it if I screw something up.

Are there other settings I should consider while rendering? Although most of the time I would like to see the dust particals more clearly. I kinda like the way the look on sometimes and I want to keep them in the finished UF.

What resolution do you usually render in? If you computer at school is a supercomputer and they like rendering big stuff, chuck the oversample up to 4. That means it renders the fractal at 4 times the size you want it to be, then shrinks it down so you have a TON of detail. I usually render my fractals 1600x1200, sample density 2000, oversample 2.

One thing I don't know is what filter radius means.

On the menu after clicking the gear button to render to disk.
In the section named Quality, is where I set number values. On the options menue the jpg quality is set to 100. On te display tab (in options) quality is defaulted to 5-which I though was high quality. Should I be changing the number here for quality and oversample?

As for filter radius i usually let the default happen and ocassionaly i may take it up a point or two. Not sure what it does and the help menue does not clarify its function.

In options-display, that's only for when you're working with the fractal in the preview pane. It doesn't affect your final render. What numbers do you have for size (Width, Hieght) In the render window?

600-800 sometimes i pick 1600 w/maintain aspect ration selected.

As far as the preview window, I though if that was clear that would be close to how the rendered flame would look. Guess I was wrong.
